DANNEBROG -- Sherman L. HANSEN, 89, of Dannebrog died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services are pending at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

CENTRAL CITY -- Thorwald C. CHRISTENSEN, 98, of Central City died Monday, March 31, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Rev. David W. Zellmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakridge Cemetery at Dannebrog. The Rev. Robert Carlson Jr. will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Mr. Christensen was born Sept. 25, 1904, at Boelus to Niels and Maren (Petersen) Christensen. On June 8, 1932, he was united in marriage to Mildred Jessen at Dannebrog. On June 8, 2002, the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Jens, Chris, Ted, Otto, Elmer, Pete and Carl Christensen; and five sisters, Christine Sorensen, Mary Petersen, Anna Petersen, Petrea Claussen and Elenor Petersen.
