Otena Elliott
PHOENIX -- Otena Elliott, 88, of Phoenix,
formerly of Dannebrog, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the
Scottsdale Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mrs. Elliott will be
cremated. The family will bury her.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are
suggested to the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Phoenix.
Messinger Mortuary and Chapel in Scottsdale
is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Elliott was born on Sept. 22, 1911, in
Dannebrog to Maurits and Annania (Kjeldsen) Andersen. She grew up there and
graduated from Dannebrog High School.
She married the Rev. James S. Elliott in
August 1932 at Dannebrog. She was a homemaker. She moved to Arizona 35 years
ago from Kansas. The Rev. Elliott died in 1991.
Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Scottsdale
Presbyterian Church. She served as a volunteer at the Arizona Center for the
Blind and the Guadalupe Presbyterian Mission in Guadalupe, Ariz.
Survivors include three sons, Dale of
Durango, Colo., Jim and Tom, both of Phoenix; two daughters, Mary Ann Burke of
Phoenix and Ruth Budden of Topeka, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
