Mabel Wentz
CAIRO -- Mabel E. Wentz, 66, of Cairo died
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at her home in Cairo.
Services were Saturday at the Apfel Funeral
Home in Cairo. The Rev. J.L. Jones officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery in Cairo.
Memorials are suggested to the Cairo Senior
Center or the Immanuel Baptist Church in Grand Island.
Mrs. Wentz was born April 5, 1933, to Ray and
Buela (Brundage) Post at St. Michael. She grew up in St. Michael and Dannebrog.
She graduated from Dannebrog High School.
She married James Wentz in 1956 in Missouri.
The couple lived in Omaha and then moved to various communities in central
Nebraska before settling in Cairo in 1977. She was employed by the Cairo Senior
Center.
She was a member of the Cairo Senior Center
and attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Grand Island and First Baptist Church
in Cairo.
She enjoyed crafts and reading.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn and
Steve, both of Plattsmouth and Ray Lee of Weeping Water; four daughters,
Roxanne Jacobson of Plattsmouth, Betty Kent of Loveland, Colo., Alicia Gracey
of DeSota, Mo., and RieLynn Trost of Yutan; one sister, Hazel Nielsen of St.
Paul; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two
sons, Allen and William; and two grandchildren.
