Ella May Gans
ST.
PAUL -- Ella May Gans, 94, of St. Paul died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Howard
County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Services
will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The
Rev. Thomas G. Hyde will officiate.
Burial
will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Mrs.
Gans was born May 1, 1909, two miles south of North Loup to Harry and Katherine
(Suponchick) Klinginsmith.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gans, on April 5, 1979.
Survivors
include a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Curt Hargrove of Buena Vista,
Colo.; a sister, Ethel Kasson of Bremerton, Wash; and a daughter-in-law, Eline
Gans of Grand Island.
Also
surviving are six grandchildren, Sheryl Edwards, Ron Gans, Kelly Hargrove,
Lance Hargrove, Kevin Hargrove and Barbara Orjiakor; sixteen
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ella
May received her education in the North Loup School and then attended Kearney
State College.
She
taught school in Sherman County.
Ella
May was united in marriage to George W. Gans on June 18, 1930, in Greeley
County. The couple lived on a farm near Dannebrog for 48 1/2 years before
moving to St. Paul in 1978. She continued to live in St. Paul after her husband
passed away.
She
enjoyed flowers, playing cards and dominos.
She
was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul and the Cleveland
Social Club.
In
addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son,
Robert; one great-granddaughter, Braya Gans; one brother, Max Klinginsmith, and
one sister, Florence Portis.
