Albert Madsen
Albert Madsen, 91, of Grand Island, formerly of Dannebrog, died Thursday,
Dec. 16, 1999, at his home after an illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kleine Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Rob Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Kleine Funeral Home
Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church at Dannebrog.
Mr. Madsen was born Aug. 14, 1908, at Dannebrog to Paul and Metta
(Mickelsen) Madsen. He graduated from Dannebrog High School and attended Grand
Island Business College.
He married Elsie Harvey on Oct. 9, 1935, at St. Paul. They farmed in the
Cleveland Precinct near Dannebrog. The Madsens moved to Grand Island in 1977.
Mr. Madsen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dannebrog. He enjoyed
woodworking, gardening and playing pool.
Survivors include his wife of Grand Island; one son, Roger Madsen of
Lincoln; three daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Leland) Steffen of Grand Island,
Lorraine (Mrs. Leonard) Boltz of Grand Island and Cynthia (Mrs. Jack) Sellers
of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence; twin sisters, Mildred and
Mabel; six half-brothers; five half-sisters; and one grandson.
